Home-Start Shepway is formally launching its ‘Building Bright Futures’ project today after receiving almost £500k of National Lottery funding from the Big Lottery Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the country.
Following the success of Home-Start Shepway’s ‘Empowering Parents to Achieve’ project, ‘Building Bright Futures’ aims to develop individual pathways of support for families in the Folkestone and Hythe District by providing a comprehensive range of practical and advisory services to meet their needs, including peer support groups and family group sessions.
Sam O’Connor, Manager of Home-Start Shepway, said: “We are so pleased that we can continue to provide this valuable service in our community. Many families have benefited from our support and many more will now be able to access new opportunities that will be provided through home-visiting and family groups.
We will also be looking to provide opportunities for families to become volunteers and access training and employment to be active members of the community.”
If you would like to volunteer and be part of our new service and training programme, please contact our office on 01303 244836.
